Since 1973, the Brazilian Grand Prix has been run in São Paulo, at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The course is beautifully located in the district of Interlagos. The track was originally called Autódromo de Interlagos, but was renamed in 1985 after the late Brazilian racing driver José Carlos Pace. In addition to the Grand Prix, the track also organizes other events, such as car races, concerts and rave parties!

Before São Paulo had the honor in 1973 to host the Grand Prix of the F1 Championship, there were also competitions in the neighboring city of Rio de Janeiro, at the Autódromo Inter Nelson Piquet, best known as Jacarepaguá. In 1978 and between 1981 and 1989, Formula 1 cars were driven in the city, which is strongly associated with carnival and Copacabana. However, this circuit no longer exists as it was demolished in 2012 to create space for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The circuit is 4.30 km and a Grand Prix at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace is run over 71 laps. The fastest lap along the track was run in 2018 by the Finn Valtteri Bottas, in the time 1: 10.54. Most times, F1 legend Alain Prost has been at the top of the podium, with a total of six first places.

The course is experienced as very challenging with a snake-like design halfway in, with 5 turns that offer tight overtaking and cars spinning of the track. The circuit is also designed with two long straight distances, very much appreciated by the spectators, where one of them is the finish where top speeds of up to 320 km / h have been measured!
