At the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the F1 Grand Prix has been run every year since 2015, after a 22-year absence from the competition calendar! Major renovations of the track took place before this to be in tune with the time that has passed. Who was responsible for the new circuit design? Yes, of course German F1 legend Hermann Tilke!

Previous participation as an F1 Grand Prix took place between 1963–1970 and 1986–1992. At the opening of the track in 1962, it was renamed the Magdalena Mixhuca circuit but was soon changed to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez to pay tribute to the two brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez, both drivers who died behind the wheel a few years after the track opened.

The circuit is located in the southeastern part of Mexico City, in a public park today called Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City. Another major motorsport that has been implemented here over the years is Nascar and its Nascar Nationwide Series. This park also became famous in 1968 for being an Olympic park for 4 branches during the Summer Olympics which were then held in the Mexican capital.

The length of the course is 4,3 km, a relatively short circuit compared to most of the courses that are part of F1's competition calendar. A Grand Prix here is held for a total of 71 laps. The fastest lap during a race has the monegasque Charles Leclerc, who in 2019 drove in the time 1: 19.23.

Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez offers a special character and challenge to the drivers, located 2240 meters above sea level and with the difficult and fast Peralta corner that ends a lap. Expect excitement and high speed along the asphalt in Mexico City!
