VFL Wolfsburg is a football club from Germany and stands for Verein für Leibesübungen Wolfsburg. The club was founded in 1945 and has since been built up through the major car manufacturer Volkswagen's major investments in the club. In recent years, Volkswagen has also been behind the club's arena construction, which is called the Volkswagen Arena and holds 30,000 spectators.
In the 2008/2009 season, Wolfsburg won their first league title after a successful season. The club plays its home games with green and black jerseys and white pants.
