FC Girondins de Bordeaux is a football club from Bordeaux in France. Since May 23, 2015, the club has played its home matches at the then newly built stadium Matmut Atlantique. Previously, the club used the Stade Chaban-Delmas as its home arena.
One of the most famous players to play for the club was national team player Zinedine Zidane who made 140 appearances in the dark blue jersey. The end of the 1980s was the club's most successful period, when the club became French champions three times in four years (1984, 1985 and 1987).
