Deportivo Alavés is a Spanish professional football club. The team is usually only called Alavés and comes from Vitoria-Gasteiz in the province of Álava in the Basque Country. The club was founded in 1921 and plays its home games at the Estadio Mendizorroza. The arena has an audience capacity of about 19,500 spectators. The team has the nickname El Glorioso (The Glorious) and the club's colors are in blue and white.
On January 4, 2018, John Guidetti became the first Swedish player to represent the team when he was loaned from Celta Vigo.
