Since 2004, the Formula 1 Grand Prix has been held in Bahrain, on the Bahrain International Circuit. The premiere race in 2004 was also the first Grand Prix held in the Middle East. The first winner of the Bahrain Grand Prix was Formula 1 legend, the German Michael Schumacher, who after retiring from the sport also had the first corner of the track named after him in 2014, a sharp right turn.

The fastest lap time is held by the Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa who completed it in 1: 31.45. Most victories at Bahrain International Cirquit have the German Sebastian Vettel and the Englishman Lewis Hamilton who both stand on 4 pieces after the 2020 championship. The same type of material has also been used for the track in Abu Dhabi and on the Formula 1 track Yas Marina Circuit.
