Juventus FC

Juventus FC is one of the European top clubs, located in the city of Turin in northern Italy. The club name means youth in Latin, and the team goes under several names, such as Juve, Bianconeri ("white black") and La vecchia signora ("the old lady").

Juventus plays its home games at the modern Juventus Stadium, with a capacity for 41,000 spectators, built at exactly the same place as the former home stadium stood on, the classic Stadio Delle Alpi, until it was demolished in 2009.

Juventus FC - History

The prestigious club was formed on November 1, 1897 by some students from Massimo D'Azeglio Lyceum, and won a predecessor to the Italian league title as early as 1905.

A founding in student rooms transitioned to the industry board room when the Fiat family Agnelli took over the club in 1923.

The clubs connection to the car company helped many of the players as they first played for the club their entire career and when retirement came they started working at Fiat. In addition to the relationship with Fiat, the club was very clear that all their players should have short hair, a rule that remained during most of the 20th century. In addition to this, the club also gave their players official clothing from famous tailors that they would wear.

Beginning in 1931, the club won five consecutive Italian league titles. In 1933 they started playing at Stadio Comunale. After World War II, the club was nationally successful and became Italian champion for the tenth time of the 1957-1958 season. They then embarked on the tradition of placing a championship star above their club mark to symbolize ten championships, a tradition that has spread to other clubs, leagues and national teams.

In the 2005-2006 season, Juventus won their 30th championship title and would have three stars. However, in connection with the 2006 scandal, they were deprived of two league titles. They then removed their stars completely from the sweater and replaced it with a new slogan "30 sul campo", about "30 on the field". The big corruption scandal (with bribed referees) in 2006, also called Calciopoli, had a serious impact on the club, but after a forced relegation to Serie B, the club was back in the highest division again for the 2007-2008 season. They never looked back, they looked forward. Without increasing pace and aiming for new successes.

After several turbulent years, Juventus set a new Serie A record with 102 points in the 2013-2014 season (in addition, the team won all the matches at home).

Since the 2015-2016 season, they have carried three stars because they have taken more than 30 titles. Their peak in Europe was reached in 1985, when the club won the European Cup for the first time, which was then repeated in 1996. Juventus has also won both the Serie A championship title Scudetto and the domestic cup Coppa Italia the most times in Italy. The "Old lady" is also one of the four clubs that have won a European Grand Slam, by winning in the Uefa Champions League, the Uefac Cup and the Cup Winners Cup.

Juventus is now a company in many aspect, listed on the Milano Stock Exchange. In addition, the club underwent a major visual change when they chose to change their club emblem in 2017. From the classic striped black and white emblem with a bull (a certain time also replaced by a zebra) to the new minimalist simple design, with only their letter J.
