Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio is an Italian football club from the city of Bergamo. The club was founded in 1907 and is said to have been named after the female heroine Atalante from Greek mythology. The club has since the start played in Italy's highest and second highest league (Serie A and Serie B), except for one season in Serie C (1981–82). The club's greatest merit is the victory in the Italian Cup, Coppa Italia 1963.
